Philip Dongre, Executive Director

I am very grateful to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, for the opportunity to work for a total of 27 years with the ministry of boys and girls in India. The Lord has used our efforts and blessed the ministry and continues to use it for His glory.

In India, there are at least 100 million children who are under priviledged, run aways, homeless or abandoned. The need in India is endless. Starting one new home for children in India will still not be enough.

In 2001, the Lord guided us to start a new ministry for the children of India, which is called "Children's Fellowship of India". In May of that year, 30 young children became a part of this ministry. And in 2002, another 15 were added. God continued to show his love and through the next few years we added more and more children. This year in May we have 110 children that are learning about the love of Jesus Christ. I am grateful for an opportunity to work for this ministry, under the American board of Children's Fellowship of India, Inc.

We are taking children at age 6 and under, and with the Lord's help, we are going to raise them to adulthood. This will include sending them through school, college, seminary or vocational training. Our main purpose is to prepare them as future leaders and missionaries to their own people.

We would like to thank God that in the year 2002, He provided for our needs and we were able to purchase 6 acres of land as our future building campus in the small village of "Naya Akola" in the Amravati District of the Mahrashtra State in central India. We started the construction for our new campus. The Lord continued to provide and we were able to move our children to the new campus in June 2004. We anticipated that this project would be completed within 2 or 3 years, and that it will provide housing for over 250 children.

At the present time, we have a total of 20 staff members. P.C. Thorat is the General Director in Inda with whom I have known for many years. His background is with the Prakash Institute where he worked as Campus Manager for over 30 years.

If you are looking for a needy field in which to invest your dedicated dollars, we suggest that you consider the ministry of Children's Fellowship of India. Since May 2001, this work has been supported by free-will contributions of Christian friends and churches.

Poverty is seen in the city streets and the villages all over India. Economic and educational advantages that are taken for granted in our land are undreamed of by millions in India. Children's Fellowship of India does more than shelter the destitute. Homeless children are given love and understanding and the message of the redeeming grace of God. As they grow older, many will go for training as preachers, teachers, evangelists or become Christian craftsmen.

We invite you to join us in this mostr rewarding enterprise. Those who sponsor our children have the deep satisfaction of knowing that Matthew 25:34-40 applies to them. In ministering to "the least", they are giving unto him.

"Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
